Applications Now Open: Dare To Dream Scholarship 2026
The Richfield-Bloomington Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is accepting applications for the 2026 Dare To Dream Scholarship through the B.U.I.L.D. Foundation.
This year we are awarding five scholarships to young people in the Twin Cities. Each award is $1,000 per year and renewable for up to four years. That is up to $4,000 toward your college education. Every scholarship recipient is also paired with a chapter member for one-on-one mentoring throughout their time in school.
This is not just a check. It is an investment in your future from a chapter that has been doing this work in the community for over 40 years.
Who Should Apply
If you graduated from Minneapolis, Richfield, or Bloomington Public Schools, plan to attend or are currently attending a four-year college or university, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and have shown leadership and service in your community, this scholarship is for you.
What the Application Looks Like
You will need to submit your personal and academic information, an official transcript, a financial need statement, and two letters of recommendation. One letter should come from a teacher, counselor, or professor. The other from a community leader, coach, employer, or pastor. Both need to be on official letterhead.
There are also three short essays. The first asks about your dream and what it means to you. The second asks about a time you made a real impact in your school or community. The third asks what you want to get out of the mentoring relationship that comes with the scholarship.
None of these need to be perfect. They need to be honest.
The Deadline
May 29, 2026. No exceptions. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
