The B.U.I.L.D. Foundation is the community service arm of the Richfield-Bloomington Alumni Chapter. Our focus is simple. We invest in young people through scholarships, mentorship, and community programming.
For 2026, our goal is to award five scholarships to deserving youth in the Twin Cities. Each award is $1,000 per year and renewable for up to four years, totaling $4,000. Every Dare To Dream Scholar is also paired with a member of the Richfield-Bloomington Alumni Chapter for one-on-one mentoring throughout their college experience.
Who Can Apply
You are eligible if you are a graduate of Minneapolis, Richfield, or Bloomington Public Schools, plan to attend or currently attend a four-year college or university, carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and can demonstrate leadership, community service, and financial need.
What You Need to Apply
The application includes personal and academic information, three short essays, a financial need statement, two letters of recommendation, and your transcript. One recommendation should come from a teacher, counselor, or professor. The second should come from a community leader, employer, coach, or pastor. Letters need to be on official letterhead.
The three essay prompts ask about your personal and professional dreams, a time you made a real impact in your school or community, and what you hope to get out of the mentoring relationship.
Deadline
All materials must be received by May 29, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Become a Dare To Dream Sponsor
These scholarships are funded by individual sponsors who step up for the next generation. A $1,000 sponsorship goes directly toward a scholarship award. As a sponsor, your name is permanently recognized on a Foundation plaque alongside the recipients awarded under your support. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible.
